Summer Vacation Bible School: July 17-28, 2006 - More pictures...

Our theme for this year is “The Fruit of the Spirit” taken from Galations 5:22-23. Each day your children will learn a different character quality through songs, skits, object lessons, and Bible stories. In addition, Mrs. Tina Garabedian will be presening the story of The Pilgrim's Progress every day for the next two weeks. Finally, our memory verses this year are taken from Pslams 1.

1st Week:
Monday-Love: The first fruit of the Spirit is Love. On this day we learned that Love is the foundation to a successful and fruitful life. Jesus Christ showed us the greatest example of love by dying on the cross to save those who repent of their sins and eternal separation from God.
Tuesday-Joy: Today we discovered that true joy is not dependant upon good circumstances but rather on an understanding that with Jesus we can be joyful in the sunshine and the rain.
Wednesday-Peace: On Wednesday we learned with the children about becoming peacemakers with our families and friends. We saw how God made peace with us through the death of His Son Jesus Christ.
Thursday– Patience: Today’s theme was very relevant to the children as we learned the importance of yielding our rights to God and waiting for His perfect timing.
Friday-Kindness: Kindness is a long lost virtue in today’s world but despite it’s rarity, we were able to learn the keys to cultivating a kind heart and kind actions no matter who the recipient of that kindness may be.

Topics for Next Week!

2nd Week:
Monday: Goodness
Tuesday: Faithfulness
Wednesday: Gentleness
Thursday: Self-Control
Friday: Wrap-Up and Review

Health Workshop with Health Nutritionist: Lena Garabedian

On Tuesday and Thursday the children were privileged to participate in a fun and interactive workshop on health food with nutritionist Lena Garabedian. Through skits, object lessons, and charts Mrs. Garabedian instructed the children on how to discern between foods that are good for you and those that are damaging to your health. The children also learned what good and bad foods do to your body and were encouraged to increase their intake of fresh fruits, vegetables, and water. Through hilarious stories, the children saw the effects that sugar and fat have on the body. Lena will be conducting two more workshops this following Tuesday and Thursday!
